Germany, 1917-23. Lot of 38 Issued Notgeld, Includes examples from towns such as Kassel, Frankfurt am Main, Kellinghusen, Kappeln, Lampert Heim am Rhein, Nähterstedt, Halle, Kaltennordheim, Kahla, Münster, and Ramen, among others. Designs vary widely and feature civic coats of arms, architectural views, churches and town halls, allegorical and occupational scenes, agricultural imagery, industrial motifs, and decorative geometric borders typical of German municipal Notgeld issues. Several notes display serial numbers, printed or manuscript signatures of municipal officials, and occasional cancellation or accounting markings. All are in Uncirculated to CU condition except for 2 VF note, attractive assortment. (38). Sold “AS IS” no returns accepted.
