Germany, ca. 1918-22. Lot of 22 Issued Notgeld notes from various towns, Includes examples from Neuhaus a.R., Neumühlen-Dietrichsdorf, Neuhof am Rennweg, Neuwied, Niederlahnstein, and Neustadt am Inn, among others. Notes feature a variety of artistic and pictorial designs including local buildings, workers, town scenes, and decorative motifs with municipal authorizations and serial numbers. These emergency notes were issued by local authorities during and after World War I to address shortages of small denomination coinage and facilitate local commerce. Notes show typical circulation wear with folds and handling, grading XF to Gem Uncirculated condition. (22). Sold “AS IS” no returns accepted.
