Germany (Prussia), 1922-23. Lot of 28 hyperinflation-era Notgeld and emergency issues from Düsseldorf and the Rheinprovinz, including issues from Landkreis Düsseldorf, Landesbank der Rheinprovinz (Düsseldorf), Rheinisch-Westfälische Bauindustrie A.G., Düsseldorf, and major industrial issuers such as Phoenix Aktien-Gesellschaft für Bergbau und Hüttenbetrieb and Gelsenkirchener Bergwerks-Aktien-Gesellschaft. encompassing municipal, district, industrial, employer-association, and provincial bank issuers, Denominations range dramatically from hundreds of thousands to many millions of Mark, illustrating the rapid monetary collapse of 1922–1923. The notes feature bold Gothic typography, large numeric counters, serial numbers, and strong industrial design elements typical of Ruhr mining and banking issues. An impressive, historically cohesive assemblage from one of the most important regions of German hyperinflation, ideal for collectors of economic history and large-denomination Notgeld. Condition ranges from VG to VF overall, with typical handling wear, folds, edge wear, corner rounding, and light to moderate toning. (28). old “AS IS” no returns accepted.
