Grenada, Government issue, dated St. Georges 1st July 1920. 5 Shillings, A unique set or litho models for this excessively rare issue. a The face of the 5 Shillings, bearing the inscription “X See altered lettering 1st May 1920”. Hand dated 26 March '20. The 5 Shillings in addition has an inscription “X”, with an X above the word “Promises...” The hand signature of “H. Fergusen” has been pasted on over Colonial Secretary. Mounting marks on back. b Background printing for the face of the 5 Shilling and dated 26 March '20. Mounting marks on back. c The 5 Shilling lithographed back in brown, lettered “c.”, dated 26 March 1920. Mounting marks on back. *A unique set for a country collector from this otherwise impossible country. Only three issued notes are presently believed known in Grenada, one of each denomination and originally in the Amon Carter collection. When sold in 2010 the issued notes brought an average of approximately $25,000 each. TDLR. Rare production design models.
