India, ND (1917-30). Lot of 2 Reverse Proofs, Includes: Reverse of 10 Rupee Photo Progress Proof, Similar to the 10 Rupees, P-16 or P-19 reverse with Men riding elephants with the Bank name at top and denomination at bottom, but missing text on the left. Printed on glossy photo paper, Uncirculated condition, this photo-proof of the original specimen was used during the production process by TDLR to determine if the design and text were fine and correct and also used for their own design for comparison or reference. Original photo-proof from the Thomas De La Rue production and design department; and, a Reverse Progress Intaglio Proof of a 1 Rupee Note Border with only undertint in middle with no vignette or text in reverse mirror Image, "1R" in all 4 corners with ornate engraving design in border edges. Intaglio printed in black on thin glossy Paper. Choice VF to XF condition. This is probably an essay design which may not have been used, either for India or other countries that use Rupees for denomination on currency. Both are from the TDLR archives. TDLR. (2).
