Connecticut.... 1811. $9.80 Issued Insurance Policy, Black text and handwriting, Embossed seal at top left, Depiction of a massive building fire at top center, with firemen and people at work to save goods. Fine-VF condition considering its age, with some toning and archival reinforcements to splits throughout piece. This document was issued to Joseph Rogers, against loss or damage by fire to the amount of $2000. The building which was insured was a "Dwelling House built with brick, three stories high, with a kitchen two stories high, also built with brick, belonging to the insured, [and] occupied by Jeremy Hoadly situate on the East side of Back Street, and is more particularly described in a Survey filed."
