19--. Proof of vignette, title and text, no border. Pineapple plantation field. 3 proofs were found in archive, no specimens. In 1900, the territory of Hawaii is established and Sanford Dole, cousin of James Dole, is appointed first Governor of the new territory. In 1901, James Drummond Dole incorporates the Hawaiian Pineapple Company and started growing fruit on 60 acres in Wahiawa, north of Oahu. Dole becomes known as "The Pineapple King," because he was able to successfully grow and harvest this crop that had failed so many others. His company puts canned pineapple in every grocery store in the country and makes the name "Hawaiian" almost synonymous with "pineapple." In 1907, Dole moves pineapple cannery to Honolulu and places ads in U.S. magazines to promote pineapple. In 1915, Hawaiian Pineapple Company becomes Hawaii's second largest industry. In 1922, James Dole purchases the Island of Lana'i. Famous pineapple and fruit company from Hawaii. Rare stock certificate. Rare Early historic Dole Pineapple related certificate. Fine condition with toning. RBNC.
