Territory of Hawaii, HI. 1900-1930. Proof of vignette, title and text, no border. Pineapple plantation field. 3 proofs were found in archive, no specimens. In 1900, the territory of Hawaii is established and Sanford Dole, coudin of James Dole, is appointed first Governor of the new territory. In 1901, James Drummond Dole incorporates the Hawaiian Pineapple Company and started growing fruit on 60 acres in Wahiawa, north of Oahu. Dole becomes known as "The Pineapple King", because he was able to successfully grow and harvest this crop that had failed so many others. His company put canned pineapple in every grocery store in the country and made the name "Hawaiian" almost synonymous with "pineapple". In 1907, Dole moved pineapple cannery to Honolulu and placed ads in U.S. magazines to promote pineapple. In 1915, Hawaiian Pineapple Company becomes Hawaii's second largest industry. In 1922, James Doles purchased the Island of Lana'i. Famous pineapple and fruit company from Hawaii. Rare stock certificate. This proof is possibly the only certificate available on this company from this time period. RBNC. VG-Fine with minor faults and wrinkles. Find a better one.
