Massachusetts, 1867. Heath's Infallible Counterfeit Detector, At Sight by Authority from the United States Treasury Department, Revised, and 12th Edition, Large and Improved. Includes illustrations with proof impressions from the original engraved government plates, by the authority of the United States Treasury Department. 7.25 x 9.75 inches and bound in maroon binding, gold title imprint on cover, engraved plate title cover on first page, 41 pages long, followed by 11 engraved plates, some in color. All of the plates are in exceptional condition. This is as close as most of us will ever be to a proof or issued example of the higher denominations. Great reference as well as exceptional counterfeit detector. Outer cover is worn with some damage to binding, still in Fine-VF condition for its age. Scarce counterfeit detector edition.
