Aug.1, 1847, $10, Haxby RI-315-A5, SENC, Issued obsolete banknote, black printing without underprint, patriotic eagle in middle top, Washington and cherub at left, Native American and woman at right, back blank, S/N 123, PMG graded Choice Fine with multiple pin holes on the left side of the note and what appears in very light red "Counterfeit" on the right middle, small edge faults on bottom margin. Altered from $10 Citizens Bank, Augusta Maine or from notes of other failed banks. Only listed as SENC in Haxby, possibly the first time reported.
