The Order of Railway Conductors of North America (ORC), founded in 1868, was a labor union representing railway conductors with it's union headquarters located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for many years. It focused on securing better wages, working conditions, and job security during the growth of the railroad industry. The ORC played a key role in the labor movement and later merged with other unions in 1969 to form the United Transportation Union. Its legacy is marked by significant contributions to workers' rights in the railroad sector.
