Toronto. 1891. Group of 3 different letters from Imperial Bank of Canada to ABNC on Imperial Bank of Canada letterheads. 1). 27th April, 1891. Letter from Imperial Bank of Canada requesting a proposal for "preparation of necessary plate and printing supply of 100,000.- X $5" banknotes similar to "Bank of Toronto" notes that they had recently had seen. The letter also asks how fast they can be prepared and that they had heard that the "Standard Bank" had given them an order and requested a sketch of that note. The letter is signed by D.K.Wilkie (Cashier) whose signature can be seen on the 1902 to 1907 Issues of the banknotes from this bank; 2). May 11th, 1891. A second letter stating that Wilkie is in receipt of the figures for plate preparation and printing supply of banknotes and the proposal is under consideration by the bank. He also states that "We are not in immediate need of a new supply of notes and will await an opportunity to inspect the new Standard Bank note". This letter also signed by D.K.Wilkie; 3). 5th March, 1888. Letter from D.K Wilkie (Cashier) requesting rates per 1000 for printing cheques issued by the bank. He also enclosed a sample. He also states he would place orders in the 100,000 lots. Signed by D.K.Wilkie on bottom. Also included is the internal ABNC list of correspondence from this bank. All are in VF to XF condition.
