ND (ca. 1890-1923) 2 Tomans, P-2. Unlisted specimen banknote. Black on pink and light green, portrait of Nasr-ed-Din on right, Arms with lion at left with "Payable at Tehran Only" in Farsi overprinted on top of it, back olive green with Lion at center with "Payable at Tehran Only" in English on top margin. 2 English Signatures on face. Pin punch "cancelled" once in middle. Archival notation in light ink at upper margin of face " 0/3003 6.9.22" possibly referring to the date of issue of this note. Back has 4 serial number locations printed in black, UR, LL and two vertically in middle center, Serial #'s "B/H 000001 -B/H 100000. The note appears CU to Gem condition, but the paper appears to have been folded horizontally in the middle extremely lightly, but it might also be an internal paper artifact, otherwise, the note is another beautiful example from this extremely difficult series. This is the second of 8 notes from this extremely rare and popular series that is sure to attract considerable attention. BW&C.
