Auction Date:2010 Apr 16 @ 11:00 (UTC-4 : AST/EDT)
Location:Crowne Plaza Hotel. 401 South Van Brunt St, Englewood, New Jersey, 07631, United States
ND (ca. 1890-1923) 3 Tomans, P-2a. Unlisted specimen banknote. Black on green and light red with portrait of Nasr-ed-Din on right, Arms with lion at left, back blue with Lion at center. Archival notation in light ink at upper left of face " 0/3562 25.4.19" possibly referring to the date of issue of this note. The back has no location name printed on the note. Pin punch "Cancelled" in middle. Back has 4 serial number locations, UR, LL and two vertically in middle center, Serial #'s "Q/B 020001 - Q/B 045000". The note on appears CU condition, but unfortunately the note has one vertical fold through the portrait of Nasr-ed-Din on right and a second one diagonally on upper left, so would grade technically XF, otherwise, the note is another beautiful example from this extremely difficult series. This is the third of 8 notes from this extremely rare and popular series that is sure to attract considerable attention. BW&C.
