ND (ca. 1890-1923) 5 Tomans, P-3. Unlisted specimen banknote. Black on red-brown and green with portrait of Nasr-ed-Din on right, Arms with lion at left with "Payable at Tehran Only" in Farsi overprinted on top of it, back brown with Lion at center with "Payable at Tehran Only" in English on top margin. 2 English Signatures on face. Pin punch "cancelled" once in middle. Back has 4 serial number locations printed in black, UR, LL and two vertically in middle center, Serial #'s "D/D 050001 -D/D 060000. The note appears CU to Gem condition with extremely light waves on the top right margin possibly due to a paper clip mark in past otherwise, the note is another beautiful example from this extremely difficult series. This is the fourth of 8 notes from this rare and desirable series that is sure to attract considerable attention. BW&C.
