Auction Date:2010 Apr 16 @ 11:00 (UTC-4 : AST/EDT)
Location:Crowne Plaza Hotel. 401 South Van Brunt St, Englewood, New Jersey, 07631, United States
ND (ca. 1911) 100 Tomans, P-8. Unlisted specimen banknote. Red, light green and black with portrait of Nasr-ed-Din on right, Arms with lion at left, back orange with Lion at center. Archival notation in light ink at upper left of face " 0/2846 September 1911" possibly referring to the date of issue of this note. The back has no location name printed on the note. Pin punch "Specimen" twice in signature blocks on bottom of face. Back has 4 serial number locations, UR, LL and two vertically in middle center, Serial #'s "J/A 00000 - 01001 - 02000". The note has an area on the lower left face that looks like a fold but is an internal pre-printing paper fault and not due to mishandling. The note should be Uncirculated to Choice condition but you can safely say it is an AU+ to Unc. example, never the less, it is extremely rare in any condition. This striking banknote can be the cornerstone for any advanced collection. The eighth of 8 notes we are privileged to offer in our inaugural auction. Rare and striking banknote that is unpriced in SCWPM.
