September 17, 1862, Hobbs & Griffith. 50 Cents, Issued obsolete scrip note, Extremely rare Missouri Confederate-payable scrip note, Black text with "Payable in Confederate Notes, when $20, or $50 are presented", signature across center, S/N 161, VG to Fine condition with toning and archivally repaired with reinforced backing. Independence, far north in Jackson County, bordered the Indian Territories. Clinton was a little farther to the south, in Cedar County. Rare Confederate Scrip note.
