"INC" was formed in 1871 with the backing of the Pennsylvania Railroad to operate foreign flagged vessels on transatlantic routes to Philadelphia. J.P. Morgan & Co. announced the details of the trust's organization on October 1, 1902. Named the International Mercantile Marine Company, a reorganization and renaming of the International Navigation Company. This was the earliest and only example found in the ABN archives from this company.
