Binder of international steamship and cruise line ephemera spanning 1900s to 1930s, featuring passenger lists, brochures, advertisements, booklets, and postcards from major transatlantic, Caribbean, and Pacific routes. Transatlantic highlights include a 1918 Compagnie Générale Transatlantique passenger list with map, a 1936 French Line advertisement, a 1930 White Star Line/Red Star Line – International Mercantile Marine Co. advert, Mediterranean Cruise M.S. Augustus pamphlet, and a 1934 Italian Line cruise pamphlet. Caribbean and West Indies materials feature 1929–30 West Indies cruise adverts; port cards of the Borinquen and Coamo from Porto Rico Lines; postcards of the Talamanca and S.S. Jamaica from United Fruit Co.; and Great White Fleet advertisements from 1929–35. Pacific and Asian travel pieces include a 1920 Hawaii tourist magazine; a 1920 China Mail Steamship Co. advertisement; a 1919 Philippines advertisement magazine; 1920s Toyo Kisen Kaisha Oriental S.S. Co. advert magazine and 1908 postcard; postcards of S.S. Kashima Maru and S.S. Phinx; 1928 NYK Line advertisements; “Visit Japan” OSK Line brochures from the 1930s; Japan Tourist Bureau travel adverts; and a Japanese Government Railways booklet. Also included are assorted postcards with ship images. A diverse and visually appealing grouping showcasing early 20th-century global passenger shipping and cruise promotion.
