Greece. ND (ca.1840-1880's) Proof printed on thin white paper, 100 x 60 mm's not including the excess border, Proof of Ionian Bank Arms with English and Greek flags on top, Printed in dark green, The vignette was used on the Perkins Bacon printed banknotes from the 1840's to 1880's and was located at the top center of the face of each note. The entire series was printed for different branches throughout Greece and is unpriced in the SCWPM with each note extremely rare in any form. The proof would have graded AU/Uncirculated but there is a 1 inch tear that can be repaired and is difficult to view on the top right and a light red crayon "X" in the middle of the proof. Very possibly extremely rare if not unique in this form. PB&CP
