Jose Galvez Proof Portrait Trio Possibly Used on Banknotes.Spain and Mexico, ND (ca.1860's), # different proof portraits using the same base portrait in 3 different formats. Includes Circular portrait of bearded Galvez with suit and tie in CU; a second version of the same portrait flanked by sailing ships and locomotives, also in CU; and a third version with Galvez with laurel wreath on top of his head in Roman toga garb that appears CU but there is a thin on the lower left. All were engraved and printed by the National Bank Note Company and have the imprint at the bottom. One is printed on thin white card and the other 2 are printed on india paper only. NBNC.
