Kansas...., 1894-1977. Lot of 10 I/C Stock and Bond Certificates from the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Co. The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company (ATSF), commonly known as the Santa Fe, was one of the most prominent railroads in U.S. history. Founded in 1859, it began operations in 1868, initially aiming to connect Atchison and Topeka, Kansas, with Santa Fe, New Mexico. While the mainline never reached Santa Fe due to the challenging terrain, a branch line was later constructed to serve the city. The ATSF was instrumental in the settlement and economic development of the American West, expanding a vast network that eventually connected Chicago to Los Angeles and extended into Mexico. (10).
