Houston Texas, Lot of 2 pieces, Includes 1915, $1.00 Specimen Cardboard Coin, "Class G", good for Kirby Lumber merchandise, Red specimen overprint and POC on circular thin card board, 1.5 inches in diameter; and, 1902, 100 Shares I/C Preferred Capital Stock Certificate, Black text with green border and underprint, Men with saw in woods at top left corner, Cancelled in red ink, Fine condition with very slight damage along bottom margin; John Henry Kirby was a businessman whose ventures made him the largest lumber manufacturer in Texas and the Southern United States. In addition to serving two terms in the Texas Legislature, he would also establish the Kirby Petroleum Company. (2)
