Massachusetts...., New York, & Missouri. 1869-1900, Lot of 7 Issued and Specimen Insurance Bonds and Certificates representing nineteenth-century life insurance, mutual benefit, and endowment policies. Includes a large-format Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States Thirty-Year Endowment Bond, five percent guaranteed, Spanish-language text, marked SPECIMEN; an engraved Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States Specimen certificate; Franklin Insurance Company, St. Louis, stock paid up $200,000, stock certificate; Citizens Insurance Company stock certificate; Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company, dated 1872, with eagle vignette; New England Mutual Life Insurance Company policy certificate; and The Manhattan Life Insurance Company policy document. Designs feature classical figures, eagles, seals, and ornate engraved borders typical of major American security printers of the period. Condition ranges from VF to XF overall, with expected folds, light staining, and age toning consistent with use and archival survival. (7). Sold ‘AS IS’ no returns accepted.
