Lot of 2 pieces, Includes: Colorful teal and gold invitation on coated cardstock regarding a "Testimonial by the Citizens of Philadelphia to Louis Kossuth, Gov. of Hungary, December 1851" with the quote "There is nothing difficult to him who wills," Features an eagle at top center with allegorical patriotic women at left and right, VF condition with some staining and adhesive damage on back; Also includes a corresponding embossed envelope with gold text reading "Complimentary Banquet to Governor Kossuth by the Citizens of Philadelphia, at the Musical Fund Hall, December 26th, 1851, VF condition with toning and stains on back. Louis Kossuth (19 September 1802 - 20 March 1894) was a Hungarian nobleman, lawyer, journalist, politician, statesman and governor-president of the Kingdom of Hungary during the revolution of 1848-49. He was widely honored during his lifetime, including in Great Britain and the United States, as a freedom fighter and bellwether of democracy in Europe. (2)
