New Orleans, Louisiana. ND (ca.1880's). Lithographic proof of 2 versions of N.O. Cotton Exchange labels with vignette of Cotton Exchange Building flanked by cotton bales and barrel on bottom and slaves harvesting sugar cane on top left and holding baskets of cotton on top right with crown in middle with "Cotton is King" on it. Also included on sheet are 3 tiger heads in wreath with "Washington Artillery" title; a steamboat traveling through the letter "O" and 2 different versions of the Cotton Exchange building separate from the entire label. Printed on white paper with toning on top and left, label looks Fine to VF condition with Light "X" mark on label. Rare if not unique New Orleans Cotton label proof.
