New Orleans, Louisiana and Mississippi. 1844 and 1871, Lot of 2 legal documents, both involving Louisiana. The 1844 document is 2 pages on toned paper that has been reinforced and repaired involving a law suit against an Mississippi man by the New Orleans and Carrollton Rail Road Company trying to recover $787, VG to Fine condition; and, 1871, State of Louisiana, City of New Orleans, legal filing . The second document of 6 pages dated 1871 involves a woman from New Orleans who is being sued by the state of New York which is also foreclosing on deeds for land and property in Louisiana. Deserves further research. Interesting legal documents from a tumultuous time period pre-Civil War and during Reconstruction, VF condition. (2)
