Brussels, Belgium, 1788. Lyf-Rente by form of Tontine of twenty-four guilders Courant Geld, Typeset document filled out with handwriting, all in Dutch, S/N 10. Black text and black border. VF condition with a small pair of holes at center. Beautiful series of signatures on back. The Lyf-Rent Societeyt (or Soci_t_ Viag_re) was a joint-stock company based in Brussels selling life annuities financed by bonds. The co-founder was Herzog von Brabant (Duke of Brabant) whose coat of arms are at top center in black. The bond's production number amounted to only 20 pieces at 400 guilder each. 10 were produced in English, and 10 were produced in Flemish, including this piece. Very Rare. (From the John E. Herzog Collection)
