Massachusetts, 1924, Lot of 4 Specimen Bonds, Includes: $100 6% Twenty Year Gold Coupon Bond, Black with brown border; $500 6% Twenty Year Gold Coupon Bond, Black with olive green border; $1000 6% Twenty Year Gold Coupon Bond, Black with blue border; and, $5000 Registered 6% Twenty Year Gold Bond, Black with green border. All bonds have winged figures at top flanking mortar and pestle above company title, Specimen overprints, POCs, are in VF to XF condition, printed by ABNC. (4). In 1903, Louis K. Liggett persuaded 40 independent drug stores to invest $4,000 (~$108,927 in 2023) in a retailers' cooperative called United Drug Stores, which sold products under the Rexall name. Justin Whitlock Dart, formerly of the Walgreens drugstore chain, took control of Boston-based United Drug Company in 1943. The chain operated under the Liggett, Owl, Sonta, and Rexall brands, which Dart rebranded under the Rexall name. Historic bond assortment from this famous drug and drugstore company.
