Certificate is signed by company founder, Arthur William Savage. M.W. Savage Factories, Inc. refers to the early 20th-century business empire of Marion W. Savage, a Minnesota entrepreneur famous for his International Stock Food Company, the famous racehorse Dan Patch, and diverse manufacturing ventures like sewing machines and furniture, later consolidated by his son Erle B. Savage around 1911.
