St. Joseph, Missouri,190x (ca.1907). Lot of 2 Specimen Panic Currency Depression Currency Cashiers Checks, from the Drovers and Merchants Bank, Payable only through the St. Joseph Clearing House. Includes $1 and $5 denominations, Black print, "Cashiers Check" underprint, Missouri state seal at left, ornate seal at right with denomination, POCs at center. Uncirculated condition. These Cashiers Checks were issued as a result of the Panic of 1907, a financial crisis caused by a significant drop in the New York Stock Exchange and a subsequent run on banks. (2)
