Princeton, Mississippi. Uncut proof pair of duplicate and original drafts, circa 1830s, printed on india paper that's mounted on thin white card, cut close to margins. Each draft features an identical vignette of classical allegorical figures, with three oval portrait medallions across the left counterfoil with cherubs sailing at the bottom middle. Both signature blocks have been cut out, as is typical. The Lake Washington & Deer Creek Rail Road was one of the earliest chartered railroads in Mississippi, projected to connect the rich cotton-producing Delta region to inland markets. Printed by Underwood, Bald, Spencer & Hufty, New York and Philadelphia.
