Large and diverse collection of maritime, railroad, and transportation ephemera spanning 1904 to 1996, featuring a broad array of printed material, photographs, technical documents, and memorabilia. Maritime highlights include a Carnival Cruise Line watercolor, Harpers Weekly “Evolution of Ferry Boats,” NJ Coast postcards, Souvenir of Great Detroit steamer book, Carnival Cruise Lines and Mt. Washington deck plans, brochures, and pamphlets, Shipbuilder and Marine Engine Builder Vol. 59 No. 524, British Railways 1953 Coronation Year dinner menu, International Navigation Co. art booklet, Department of Commerce Steamboat Inspection Service 1916 law book, and cruise books for the 1912 S.S. Cleveland and the U.S.S. Leviathan. Railroad section is extensive, with annual reports from the New York, New Haven & Hartford RR, New York Central RR, Great Northern Railway Co., and Pennsylvania Railroad Co. from 1945–1953, along with technical publications such as schematics and articles from Railway and Locomotive Engineering, The Diamond Magazine Erie Lackawanna Historical Society edition, Train Sheet issues, and a 1910 photo album of depots. Also includes railroad correspondence, operating forms, waybills, clearance forms, tickets, agent stubs, luggage tags, NJ Transit bulletins, and a 1904 Erie Railroad letter. Calendars include a 1977 Susquehanna County edition and Railroadiana of America, Inc. editions from 1986, 1993, and 1994. Additional transportation items include a VIA Rail Silver and Blue Class brochure, locomotive postcards, repair estimate letter for a locomotive boiler, and a 1978 U.S. stamp poster featuring Jimmie Rodgers.
