Detroit, Michigan, 1924, $1000, Specimen, 5 1/2% Gold Bond. Black with green border and underprint, Warrior woman hugging resting lion, Coupons attached. Red specimen overprints, POC's and "00000" serial numbers. XF condition. Historic automobile bond issued right after the company released the first Chrysler automobile. ABNC. It was during the early 1920s that Walter Chrysler assumed the presidency of Maxwell. In January 1924, Walter Chrysler launched the well-received Chrysler automobile at Maxwell Motors. The Chrysler Corporation was founded by Walter Chrysler on June 6, 1925, when the Maxwell Motor Company was re-organized. Following the introduction of the Chrysler, the Maxwell was dropped after its 1925 model year run, although the new line of lower-priced 4-cylinder Chryslers which were then introduced for the 1926 model year were basically Maxwells which had been re-engineered and rebranded.
