DE. 1923. $500, 10 Year 7 1/2% Convertible Sinking Fund Debenture Bond. Proof bond certificate from the Republic BNCo. Printed on white paper, uniface, with purple "cancelled" handstamps referring to the cancellation of the printing plates. Vignette, title and text present but the border is missing. Vignette of allegorical women flanking Nepture with trident with water pouring out of fishes mouth. In 1860, the Coast Wrecking Company was reorganized as Merritt's Wrecking Organization. It merged with Chapman Derrick & Wrecking Company to form Merritt & Chapman Derrick & Wrecking Company in 1897. In 1922, the company merged again with T.A. Scott Company to form Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corporation. The company was involved in marine salvage and wrecking operations as well as contracting and construction and headquartered in New York, N.Y. RBNC. VF.
