Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, ca. 1880-1900s. Lot includes 6 exchanges, all Issued and in Spanish and with adhesive internal revenue stamps. Includes: Henry W. Peabody & Co.; Manuel Dunde; A Senores Thibaud Brothers, Preprinted 1000 Pesos Oro Exchange; E. Escalante e Hijo; and Banco de Tabasco. All are in Fine-VF condition. Mérida is the capital of the Mexican state of Yucatán, and the largest city on the Yucatán Peninsula. The city is located in the northwest part of the state, about 22 miles off the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. (6)
