Merida de Yucatan, Mexico, January 3 1880. 1000 Pesos Oro, Issued 1st of Exchange, Blue on light orange underprint, Steamship, anchor and sailing ship in middle vignette, Manuel Donde's name on left with 2 large imperforate Mexican revenue stamps with "Yucatan" overprinted on them, back with 2 more perforated revenue stamps with "Veracruz" overprinted on them, POC, Corresponding bank Thebaud Brothers, New York, Red ink written on the exchange for approval for cancellation. Fine condition. Attractive and scarce early Yucatan fiscal items.
