Merida, Mexico, 1887, 1000 Pesos Gold, blue with no underprint with preprinted denomination, sight draft payable at 60 days. Corresponding bank was Thebaud Brothers, New York. Very unusual to find preprinted denominations on any exchange and since this was a sight draft, it could be cashed by anyone it was endorsed to and possibly circulated as cash or was treated like a Clearing House Certificate in the U.S. Banking system, 1 adhesive Mexican revenue stamp on back, cancelled in red by Paid on bottom right. XF condition and very rare.
