Various States, 1905-1921, Binder of 60+ early 20th-century correspondence, invoices, technical literature, and photographs related to the Morristown & Erie Railroad, spanning 1905 to 1929. Includes two 1929 letters regarding oil-electric engines, as well as 1905 correspondence from Horace Brumley, president of Howard Savings Institution, and from the president of General Electric Co. to the M&E president. Early equipment-related letters include 1906 communications from Essex Fells regarding gas-electric cars, Standard Motor Construction Co., and St. Louis Car Co.; a 1908 letter from American Locomotive Co.; 1911 correspondence from Gould Storage Battery Co.; 1913–1914 letters from American Equipment Co.; 1915 letters from Drake & Drake Gas-Electric Engineers and Rolling Stock Finance Corp.; 1916 letter from Electric Storage Battery Co.; 1919 letter from Unit Railway Car Co.; and 1921 letters from Service Motor Trucks (2); Winther Motors, Inc.; and many more. Additional items include a 1924 letter from Consolidated Purchasing Agency; 1924 letter from J. G. Brill Co. with schematic; and a 1927 invoice from International Harvester. Supplementary material features a Charles F. Johnson Car Co. advertising sheet; Edwards Railway Motor Co. monthly bulletin (1924); and two photographs of flatbed rail cars under construction.
