New York, 1933, $1,000. 5% Gold Bond. Slate blue border and underprint with large impressive Mutual Life building in middle, small building on bottom and impressive eagle in left border area. Specimen with POC's and coupons, VF condition with toning and a couple soiled areas due to handling, but impressive looking certificate. Extremely rare legend printed in red in middle only seen on railroad bonds before this piece. The legend is altering the "Payable in Gold" clause to "Payable in any coin or currency which at the time of payment is legal tender". ABNCo.
