U.S., Cuba. 1870's. 10 pages of early National Banknote Company foreign banknotes and vignettes used on various U.S. obsolete and foreign banknotes, checks, drafts, stock certificates and security printed items. 120+ proof vignettes. Includes bank titles, women, girls, railroads, numeral medallions and counters, borders, bond coupons, letterheads, vignettes of and numerous other subjects. Additionally there are 2 different Cuban banknotes represented, P-27 and P-28, "El Banco Espanol De La Habana", with back proof borders without central vignette and a single central vignette, all printed in black and the title and text without vignette from the front. Other high lights include a Smith & Wesson trade card with a revolver and a proof check from Chile. Condition ranges from almost good to VF condition with archival notations in ink on a considerable number of the vignettes. The plate numbers listed on the vignettes or written close to the vignettes range from # 2811 to 2966. Another rare group of obsolete banknote related vignettes and banknotes from this printer. NBNC.
