U.S. 1860-1870's. 2 pages of early National Banknote Company vignettes used on various obsolete and foreign banknotes, checks, drafts, stock certificates, documents and security printed items. Close to 30 proof vignettes. Topics include navigation, historical figures, animals, bond coupons, borders, medallions, numerals, notable men and numerous other interesting items. High lights include "Gold Coin, 1870"; "Inauguration of Washington" vignette; "Looking Out" with horses and birds; "Stable Door" with horses and pig; State of Texas $15 bond coupon and 2 different "National Bank Note Company" titles for letterheads, checks or documents. There is also included an undertint banknote proof of border without text of Peru, El Banco de Arequipa low denomination banknote. Condition ranges from almost good to fine condition with archival notations in ink on a considerable number of the vignettes. The plate numbers listed on the vignettes or written close to the vignettes range from # 2779 to 2809. Another rare group of obsolete banknote related vignettes. NBNC.
