U.S. 1870's. 4 pages of early National Banknote Company vignettes used on various banknotes, checks, drafts, stock certificates, documents and security printed items. Close to 80 proof vignettes. Topics include mining, allegorical figures, anvil, young women, bond coupons, borders, medallions, numerals and numerous other interesting items. High lights include "National Currency, Five dollars, US" compound proof of elements either used or proposed for U.S. National Currency from the mid 1870's; "New Mine" with miners working underground; Gaylord Rolling Mill trade card and 9 different "The Kansas Pacific Railway Co" bond coupons. Condition ranges from almost good to almost fine condition with archival notations in ink on a considerable number of the vignettes. The plate numbers listed on the vignettes or written close to the vignettes range from # 3733 to 3815. Another rare group of proof vignettes. NBNC.
