U.S., Peru. 1870's. 4 pages of early National Banknote Company foreign banknotes and proof vignettes used on various obsolete and foreign banknotes, checks, drafts, stock certificates, documents and security printed items. Close to 55 proof vignettes. Topics include Native Americans, allegorical figures, bond coupons, borders, medallions, numerals, bank and business titles and other interesting items. High Lights include rare banknote proofs from Peru, Banco Anglo-Peruano, 50 Centavos, either P-S101B or P-S103, both unpriced in Pick, front proof, no back proof, top margin is tattered, but still acceptable example of very rare note; 1 Sol, P-S103A, proof of front (Listed as back proof only, no front) damaged from being on edge of sample book, but most of the note is present, undertint of front proof in similar condition and back proof in fine condition and Peru unlisted, Empresa De Tramways De Lima, 5 and 10 Centavos banknote/tickets. There are numerous separate design element proofs used on these banknotes that are located around the pages. In addition, there is an impressive vignette "Great West" and other items. Condition ranges from almost good to fine condition with archival notations in ink on a considerable number of the vignettes. The plate numbers listed on the vignettes or written close to the vignettes range from # 3986 to 4698. Another rare group of obsolete and foreign banknote related vignettes. NBNC.
