Murray, Draper, Fairman & Co., Founded in 1812, the State Bank at Trenton was one of New Jersey’s earliest chartered banks and served as a key financial institution for state deposits, public projects, and early 19th-century commercial activity. Notes from the 1820s represent some of the earliest engraved currency used in New Jersey and reflect Trenton’s development as the state’s political and economic center.
