New Jersey...., 1920-50s. Lot of 70+ Black and White photographs documenting locomotive construction, shop activity, and mechanical engineering processes from the 1920s to 1950s. Included are official builder and industrial documentation prints of locomotives, cars, and train parts under construction, many with reference numbers and annotations. The group further features detailed interior and exterior views of boiler fronts, fireboxes, wheel assemblies, driving gears, underframes, and control panels, along with numerous factory and workshop scenes showing fabrication and assembly in progress. Several photographs are marked as proofs or stamped with date codes, while others are mounted on paper with typewritten or handwritten captions on face or reverse. Condition ranges from Fine to XF.
