The auction will take place on December 16, 2025 at AIA's office located at 1060 Main St., Suite #202, River Edge, NJ 07661 beginning at 11:00 AM
New York, 1849-58. Lot of 21 early New York financial documents, including Treasurer of the City of New York at the Mechanics’ Bank, 1855, pair of I/C checks signed by then-Mayor Fernando Wood, printed in red on blue-violet paper with POCs at center; and United States Navy Yard (Brooklyn Navy Yard), 1849–58, group of 19 issued and unissued military paychecks made out to various sailors. The Navy Yard, established in 1801, was where the famed Civil War ironclad USS Monitor was completed and commissioned and is now known as Greenpoint, Brooklyn, directly across from the midtown-Eastside of Manhattan.
