Stock Ledger from S/N 51 to 350, All have Black print with orange border and company title at top, Multiple "VOID" stamps cover each page, Fine to VF condition with damage at spine of book, ABNC. In 1951, leadership at The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company changed following the death of longtime president John Augustine Hartford, who had led the company since 1916 and overseen its rise as the largest grocery chain in the United States. He was succeeded as president by Ralph W. Burger, a career executive who assumed control in 1951 and remained president through the 1950s. Burger guided A&P during a period of modernization and restructuring while the Hartford family continued to exert influence at the board level.
