New York & Pennsylvania. Lot of 6 Issued Stock Certificates representing early American banking history, including examples from New York and Pennsylvania, Includes: 1813, Lansingburgh, NY. Bank of Lansingburgh, I/C Stock certificate; 1857, Stroudsburg Bank, I/C, with Liberty and Washington portrait vignette; 1855, Bank of Pennsylvania, I/U, (Miners’ Bank Branch) featuring allegorical and agricultural scenes; 1889, Commercial National Bank of Pennsylvania, I/U, with ornate harbor vignette; and two, 1871, Kensington National Bank of Philadelphia certificates bearing U.S. revenue stamps and engraved industrial views. A visually impressive group spanning pre-Civil War through post-Reconstruction banking design, with early fiscal signatures and detailed engravings. Conditions range Fine to VF. (6).
