The Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Railway (NC&StL) was one of the major railroads operating in the southeastern United States. It was established in 1845 as the Nashville & Chattanooga Railroad and expanded over the years to include connections to St. Louis, forming its well-known name. The railway was a key transportation link, particularly for freight and passenger services in Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. In 1957, it was absorbed by the Louisville & Nashville Railroad (L&N), which itself later became part of CSX Transportation.
